We believe very firmly that all human beings are worthy of respect and honour--that "we are here... To love.... And to be loved", as Charlie Mackesy says through the characters of The Boy and The Horse, in his beautiful book, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse. We're not perfect by any means, but we try to live this out, as best we can in our work, play and--indeed--in all of life.
We also believe that all that exists is precious. As such, we try to treasure the beauty in all things. We also seek to live our lives in a sustainable fashion, recognizing that doing so is an incredibly complicated thing to do, and that being gracious to ourselves is also good.
We believe that the work we do here at Evidence & Echoes is both a science and an art. We commit to making statements about people's lives based on facts, as reliably as possible. This is the science of it. It is also important to remember that, the further back in history we travel, the more difficult it is to establish hard-and-fast "facts."
The art comes in in delivering the research in a beautiful package, and in creating the narratives that tie together the stories of our past in a compassionate, honest, and well-crafted story.
